MIBK(Methyl Isobutyl Ketone)는 Isopropyl acetone, Hexanone, 4-Methyl-2-pentanone이라고도하며 아세톤과 수소를 촉매하에 반응시켜 얻어지는 물질로서, 무색투명, 인화성 및 특이한 냄새를 지닌 액체로서 비닐, 아크릴, 알키드, 폴리에스테르,에폭시 수지의 용제 및 여러가지 화학반응의 원료로 사용된다.
